I had been looking for the right follow focus for my 60D for quite a while and finally stumbled upon D-Focus System's site. There are slightly cheaper rail/focus systems out there, but for build quality and the amount of other great looking products geared towards DSLR users D-Focus offers, I was sold. I have only used this on a couple of short films so far, but it really has improved my DSLR operating experience immensely. I really do not miss trying to pull focus on the lens barrel. I found it extremely smooth to operate, the construction was solid and the baseplate gives a comfortable amount of rise over your tripod head. One thing I was leery about was the lens gear. I have used the zip tie style gears and wasn't terribly impressed with them and D-Focus' looked even worse. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The Starter Bundle comes with a little bag of bolts of varying lengths that slide into your lens gear allowing it to adapt to a number of lens adaptors which is great to start out with, although I would recommend getting multiple gears. Fumbling with changing the bolts (they're a little tricky to change at first) for your gear while everyone else on set waits is never good. I was also worried that the rods wouldn't be long enough for use with larger lenses, however the hole rig worked great with my 75-300mm. Overall, I would highly recommend this if you're looking for an affordable DSLR follow focus it is a fantastic product. (Posted on 4/3/14)

I did my shoot and I must say I’m most impressed with your rig. Frankly, for the money it can’t be beat.The follow focus is smooth and rail kit is sturdy and solid. I,ve worked with follow focuses 3x the price and the difference is negligible. (Posted on 11/14/13)
